Cabinet Assembly

I screwed the particle boards together so when I cut out the design, they would be exactly opposite.

Cutting them out together saved me from having to cut them out separately and also made them match for when I screw the other pieces together.

Here are the 2"X2" boards I used to screw the particle boards together.
side parts

I put the 2"X2" pieces on the side at 1/4" from the edge so when I put the other pieces on, they are flush with the edges and not sticking out.

When I got the 4'X8' pieces of particle board, I had to cut them smaller to fit them in the vehicle used for transport. Because of cutting them, I did not have enough to make the bottom and middle shelves. A friend had some extra wood and let me use that for the shelves.

You can see the start of what the finished product will look like. The joystick face panel fits and the light is just the right size.

This is the brace for the TV shelf. A friend donated his 19" TV for me to use in this project. I did not want to only use the particle board because of the weight issue. I was afraid it would break if there were no support braces.

I got the shelf on the braces and put another small 2"X2" piece to brace the TV from moving back.

I put another brace above the TV to hold it down. That also served as the shelf for the speakers. You might also be able to see I also added a support for the light. It is more secure and is away from the wood.
